VIRTUAL DESIGN
We understand that not everyone has the time or budget to commit to an in-person design service. Our virtual design service offers our clients the same level of quality and attention to detail that we're known for, all from the comfort of their own homes. To begin, I am Tyree’ M. Whitson, Principal Interior Designer at TMWhitson Design Company, an Interior Design company that specializes in residential and commercial design, space planning, home staging, etc.
I’ve always had a passion for interior design and the foundation of my company has always been built on forming meaningful, lasting relationships with my clients. I pride myself on actually getting to know the client for who they are because that is what helps me execute my best designs, not the 10-question form I have them fill out. Haha.
As for my background and experience, I have a B.S. in Interior Design from The University of North Alabama and a Masters in Urban & Regional Planning from Alabama Agricultural & Mechanical University. During my undergraduate endeavor, my concentration was residential design with a focus in Interior Architecture. I then used that focus to build my graduate research on mixed-used environments and how interior design plays back into that. I am currently studying and preparing to take the National Council for Interior Design Qualification exam which is the industry's recognized indicator of knowledge and proficiency in interior design principles; a designer's commitment to the profession.

The goal at TMWhitson Design Company is to make the Design Process as simple as possible! The Design process is a simple, 7-step process that will ensure a smooth transition from consultation to installation.

Consultations are charged at a flat rate of $100.00. During the consultation, we will discuss the scope of the project, budget, timeline, design requests, needs, wants, etc.
Once the consultation has been completed and a verbal confirmation to move forward has been given, I will work up the interior design agreement which outlines the scope of the project, associated fees, and other “important items”. Once signed, 50% of the interior design fee is due to begin design procurement.
During design procurement, I will begin to build the needed design documents to convey my vision for the project. This is the longest part of the design process.
During design review, I will walk through each space in the project and help the client visualize the space. This is the part of the process where we make changes to proposed products, colors, etc.
This process is continuous until we’ve reached an agreement on design.

During the design agreement phase, the remaining 50% of the interior design fee is due. Once paid I will present the client with a proposed estimate for the project and compare it to the clients’ budget. I will also provide the client with an ordering document to purchase all product specified. We will make any final changes to the proposed products for the project and the ordering process will begin.
Once all items are ordered and being tracked, You’ll set a final installation date based on the last scheduled to-be-delivered item. On installation day, I will confirm a time to come to your home/space to install all products in their proposed spaces.
At this stage, we'll do a final walkthrough of the space with you to ensure that everything is perfect and meets your expectations. We'll also take this opportunity to address any last-minute concerns or questions you may have. Once we're all happy with the end result, we'll officially hand over the space to you, complete with all the finishing touches and styling. We're confident that you'll love your new space and enjoy it for years to come.
